Let’s Make Soup

List the people you admire and look to for advice…

The House Smells Nice

Usually when I make soup, I don’t follow a recipe however, I do have a lot of experience making it. So I basically know what I’m doing, but there’s always something to learn to make it better.

Season The Aromatics

I have a partner in life who we are constantly giving advice or receiving advice. Sometimes we work on each other’s nerves, but we do take the time to listen. That partnership is the foundation of the flavor of the day, and the course of your life. By all means we are far different from each other. That’s how the broth gets a little spicy and a little sweet.

Simmer The Vegtables

This depends on the season and the flavor of the day. I seek out experts in areas I need advice. There are people with different skill sets and experience than myself.

Protein for Strength

Naturally, there are other proteins that go into soup that are not animal product. I surround myself with people who have a similar kindness towards life. People who view life as what’s best for society and not just for themselves. This helps me grow strong with an undercurrent of humility. So in our soup, we add in some soy curls or maybe some tofu and what’s left over in the refrigerator. Good advice sits in unexpected places.

Carbs for Longevity

I know the people who have been there the longest and most consistently for me and they are the backbone of the soup. During tough times their advice is to the point and without judgment. The soup is starting to get ready, only needing adjustments around the edges.

Enjoy The Meal

So sit down and share the soup with those who got you there. It’s not only the fruits of your labor, but also those who were there along the way. And on some days, you take out the immersion blender and purée the soup. It is all in there, but how you got there is muddled and kind of wonderful

After everybody has left you sit down in your chair and open a book and read. That’s a lot to be found in those pages.

You reflect and refract and you remember you forgot the bay leaf, but the house certainly smells good.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
