Things I Simply Can Not Do

There are certain things in life I simply cannot do no matter how hard I train and how simple they seem to be.

  • I’ve tried so many times, but I cannot go an entire yoga class without looking how many minutes are left in class
  • Paint clouds
  • If I drop something on the floor from my seat in an airplane I can not reach it.
  • Trim the nails of a cat.
  • I have never kept a book mark for more than one book. Marks bookmarks bookmark Marks books. And I lose them
  • Kill Bill – I’ve lasted eight minutes at most.
  • Cannot shoot a gun. I once went target shooting with my stepdad. I could not kill an innocent can.
  • Even when I attended church, I screwed up the words to ‘The Lords Prayer.’
  • How much you wanna make a bet I can throw a football over them mountains? Back in ’82, I used to be able to throw a pigskin a quarter mile. If Coach would have put me in the fourth quarter, we’d have been state champions, no doubt in my mind.

    What a delightful and refreshingly honest post! 😄 I found myself smiling all the way through. Your list of “things I can’t do” is full of wit, self-deprecating humor, and wonderfully relatable moments that remind us none of us is perfect.

    I especially loved the mix of everyday struggles with unexpected observations—from losing bookmarks and trimming a cat’s nails to surviving only eight minutes of Kill Bill! The airplane anecdote and the “innocent can” line genuinely made me laugh.

    There is an unusual story around that picture. About two weeks ago I went to my ex mother-in-law’s house and Ingelheim.

    She has this painting on her wall. Not this actual painting, but I painted it from the memory of the painting she had on her wall.

    This made her smile, and my German was a lot better

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
