A Tradition

Do you vote in political elections?

On Election Day I take my mail in ballot and run it to the designated drop box. it’s all of two miles and two miles back. Our district (District 3 Washington) is a key battleground in the House of Representatives.

I have voted in every single election post 1984. I have voted by mail in, traditional booths and overseas ballots.

I have worked three political campaigns and volunteered for others.

But I Sour

The United States is not a democracy as our elections are now gerrymandered to smithereeens. I understand the frustration of our youth. I am frustrated by the blatent attempts to limit the voice of the disenfranchised

Our election cycles are long and money driven. In my mind it is best to have your voice heard locally. It is there you can affect change.

This is a thoughtful and honest reflection on civic responsibility and the realities of the system today.

What stands out most is your lifelong commitment to voting and participation—that consistency carries real weight and credibility. You’re not speaking from theory, but from lived experience across decades, which makes your concerns feel grounded and sincere.

I’d like to be more up on local politics here. I do love the informative books they send out.

Agreed, I wrote this in a bad state of mind about the state of politics in The Divided States of America with a sense of , It doesn’t matter what we do

There’s a candidate on the King County voters guide I forget his name exactly but I read the voters guide every year just to see what he’s up to. My son-in-law sends it to me.

His name is something like Spaceman.

What a great name! Seems you will arrive ready to vote in your new state already. 😀

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
