All Things Considered

What is the best excuse you have heard lately?

A Quickie

Here I am sitting at the airport in Frankfurt, waiting to go to The Divided States of America there are excuses all around me.

I have to make excuses for our president, racism, capitalism, and all things that are America.

I’m going to focus on a very small thing today.

Bottle Caps

There is a new law in Germany that bottle caps must stay attached to a bottle.

I can only think of the excuses the United States has not to enable this other than the underlying principle of maximize shareholder wealth.

  • It’s too hard
  • The system is rigged.
  • Minorities want this.
  • Global warming is a hoax.

My three year-old daughter can come up with better excuses.

  • I don’t want those shoes
  • I do it
  • I wanted chocolate ice cream
  • I don’t want to

But our three-year-old easily figured out the bottle cap situation. It’s not that hard.

At least she doesn’t use the age of excuse of our main president of the United States

Thanks Obama.

What an engaging and thought-provoking post! I enjoyed how you used something as ordinary as a bottle cap to spark a much larger conversation about responsibility, innovation, and the excuses societies often make to resist change.

Oh my goodness, can you even IMAGINE what would erupt if there was even suggestion of this here?!

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
