Mabel Another Black Label

While the commercials mostly featured a whistle and a catchphrase rather than a standard sung verse, the lyrics from the classic animated and live-action musical radio/TV spots go like this: [12]

Those were different times

The classic jingle features a man relaxing at home while his partner brings him a beer, highlighting Carling’s Black Label as the “quality brew at the popular price,” culminating in the iconic “Hey, Mabel — Black Label!” catchphrase.

Many link these back to a simpler time. which is true, Simpler for the white male wanting a beer after doing man’s work.

Please feel free to click on the enclosed commercials. They are entertaining really and a little cringey.

What a wonderfully nostalgic—and delightfully cheeky—trip down advertising memory lane! 😄🍺
I really enjoyed how you brought these old commercials back to life. Schaefer Beer and Black Label weren’t simply beverages being advertised; they were selling an entire mood, a lifestyle and, in their own unmistakable way, a particular picture of what “fun” looked like in those days.

I never realized Mabel was kind of hot.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
