Vote Often and Early

Emperor Palpatine has announced open elections for a new Emperor — and he’s nominated Darth Vader. You get to nominate one challenger.

Disclaimer =I have not seen Star Wars so this shall be running blind.

In The Emperor’s New Clothes” is a classic fairy tale about a vain king who is swindled by two con artists. The scammers claim to weave invisible garments that only appear to the wise and competent, prompting the emperor and his courtiers to pretend they can see the magnificent fabric to avoid looking foolish. But this we shall let the story play exactly as intended. My nominee will be Kiera Knightly. .

She is known for het intelligence, and most people seem to like her. These days people like the glitz and glimmer and their voting habits quizzical.

The climax occurs when the empress proudly parades through town in her “new clothes” scantily clad, until an innocent Darth Vader shouts out, “But she has nothing on but a beautiful chiffon toga”. The crowd soon agrees, and the illusion is shattered, leaving the regular citizens mesmerized by the empress’s everyday beauty and intelligence.

My original nominee was Sinead O Conner but her brilliance left us a few years back. Kierra will do fine.

I miss seeing her in things, but her decision not to be in big movies for at least the time being, is understandable. Also I guess it’s been a while since I’ve seen a film of the type she starred in. I’m trying to remember the last thing I saw her in, and I think it was Begin Again, which I liked. I played her version of the main song over and over for a while. 🙂

That is a quirky perfect insight. Sundays I have a tough time writing as we take the kids on adventures. BTW the Everett children’s Museum is fantastic. I loved that movie, and I used it as an image as putting together this brief absurdity.

That’s really lovely for you all. If ever I have kids to run around with, I’ll remember. 🙂 The Children’s museum downtown seemed fun from what I could see of it looking down into it from the armory.

A friend’s daughter just published a book about children’s books titled “Tell me a Story: Fantastic Children’s Books from the Library of Congress”, and I almost bought a copy. But then thought, “Well, let’s see. Maybe down the line.”

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
