The Age Old Question =My Old Ass

What’s a time you followed your gut and it turned out to be exactly right?

What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

Last night we had the actual pleasure of sitting down and watching a movie. We had no boxes to unpack. I usually opt for Indie movies however a friend recommended a movie in the don’t judge a book by its cover category. It sounded chickflickish but my gut had the instinct that it would be good.

And it came back to the a recurring theme. What advice would you give to your younger self..

An 18th-birthday mushroom trip brings Elliott face-to-face with her wisecracking 39-year-old self. When the older Elliott starts handing out warnings about what her younger self should and shouldn’t do, she realizes she has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.

I am not a movie buff, however I don’t really want to know too much about a movies before watching it. It is generally gut feel.

Cooking and Relationships

Cooking can be the same way. I do not follow recipes and cook by instinct, experience and intuition.

The same can be said for falling for somebody romantically. I have a friend who got divorced about the same time as I. He had a spreadsheet for all the attributes he wanted in a future partner. My approach was no approach. I was casually dating and was out running one night and it hit me. I sprinted home the last mile as I had nice tickets for a basketball game. I picked up the phone and asked this gal to go the game the following night. who knew it was a nationally televised game and lasted til 1100.

Twenty years later we watched a movie together last night.

What a wonderful reflection. I love how you connected movies, cooking, relationships, and intuition through one common thread—trusting your instincts. Your story beautifully illustrates that some of life’s best decisions aren’t made with spreadsheets or perfect plans, but with an open heart and a willingness to follow that quiet inner voice.

It sounds like you liked the film, but I’m not 100% sure? 🙂

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
