What’s your best tip for budget travel?
Travel for people comes in many different forms. It could be a road trip up the coast, a destination within your own country or international travel. I am no expert as I have made many mistakes before but by now consider my self seasoned
- If you really like to travel, get a job that requires travel. You get to travel a lot on the company dime and you accrue a lot of benefits. I know in my career I tend to or hard to get jobs that require travel.
- Once on the road, stay away from the tourist traps. Stay for a while in a certain place and start digging in and learning the customs and the everyday flow of life..
- This made sound so common sense but travels are much cheaper January through May.
4. Many countries have excellent mass transit there’s no need to rent a car.

5. Part of our travels consist of a lot of walking, running or riding a bike. You can cover a lot of ground in a rational way, get some good exercise and get the feel of the city or country.
It’s been a long day and I rattled these off off the top of my head. I do spend a lot of money on travel and I don’t always spend it wisely. I’m grateful to be at a point of my life where we probably worry less than most and have the time to soak in the mores and customs of many a destination.
