What’s a thing you wish schools actually taught?

I think our schools do the best they can, given limited resources.

And limited resources are a part of the equation. In the United States, those with resources have access to better education. These schools in general have better access to courses in the arts.

As funding deceases in public schools, as do the arts. We see this pattern across the United States.

Somewhere along the line we are missing out on many brillant artists who didn’t have the opportunity to contribute their creations to the world.

    You’ve raised such an important point. I appreciate that you acknowledge the enormous effort many schools make despite limited resources, while also drawing attention to the inequality that shapes what opportunities students actually receive.

    The decline of arts education is particularly concerning. Art, music, drama, and creative expression are not merely extras—they give young people ways to discover their voices, develop imagination, and see possibilities beyond the classroom.
