What’s one habit that has improved your life the most?
I have this theory that has been debunked. I used to think they only started writing decent music in 1983 when I started listening to the college radio station in Williamsburg.
I sat listening, having recently moved to Williamsburg. as I was smoking a cigarette a habit that moved with me from Philadelphia where I lived for a year. I woke up that morning at the early hour of 9:30.
I had a new fancy job and still felt a tad bad about myself having gained about seven pounds. Without much fanfare, I put on a pair of running shoes and headed out for a run.
I remember talking to stepmother soon after and told her of my run. She said now the key is sticking with it.
Forty two years later, I just finished my run through Mainz Germany. The distance today probably no different from my initial run albeit plenty slower still it felt just as good.
Running was not something I did everyday , it was a life style that took me many places in life. It was a habit that led me beyond my coronary genetics and allowed me to enjoy the Side Effects of Endorphins.

Hidden in this gem is my habit of finding things out of the ordinary thus listening to college radio stations. To this day I seek out music and art off the beaten path.
