Guten Morgen

Guten Morgen

Describe a few simple things you do that brings joy to your life.

Mornings

I have never in my life been a morning person. waking up early in the morning brings me great joy. The quiet and the solitude and the focus of thinking is special that time of day.

Lightning Bugs

A summer evening with fireflies, and the far off distance of thunder has a special memory to me and every time I see them, I give thanks.

Conversations

I struggle with languages. I’m getting better all the time. Anytime I converse with somebody in a foreign language it is a pleasure to me. The toothpaste on the counter, I remember buying in the store all in another language.

For me this list can go on forever. It’s a weird world we live in, but there are so many simple pleasures that I simply don’t take for granted.

A breeze just came in the side window, energizing the room, the dandelions on the lawn open as the sun comes up, and my keys are exactly where they’re supposed to be.

Or a simple note in a book. I wrote this in a book l lent to our daughter. It is not the note, but rather that my daughter took notice and sent this back to me.

The book was Backman’s book “My Friends” . Speaking of simple pleasures.

This is such a gentle and grounding reflection on the small, often overlooked joys of everyday life.

What stands out beautifully is how you move through simple moments—early morning quiet, summer fireflies, everyday conversations, even something as ordinary as a note in a book—and turn them into sources of gratitude and meaning. There’s a calm awareness in your writing that reminds us how richness often hides in the simplest details.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
