What’s a book or movie that genuinely scared you?
False Trail
Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood is an autobiographical comedy book written by South African comedian Trevor Noah, published in 2016. At the beginning of the book, Trevor Noah hints at something catastrophic to happen and in the end. It never does, and it has a very sweet ending.
That Monster
Yes, watching Rudolph, the red nosed reindeer as a kid, the monster in the cave was scary to me. Naturally as an adult I just see it as cute. I have empathy when the grandkids don’t want to watch a certain part of a movie..

The Weirdo Group
We had a group of 10 people who did oddball things he would never think of doing. It was a group I met through church. We want to monster truck rallies, roller derby , escape rooms, and one time a horror movie. They were all kind of scary to me and we went to see 10 Cloverfield Lane with John Goodman. It was not my genre and I wasn’t comfortable, but I’m glad I went.

Sports
Over the last couple years, I’ve lost my emotional attachment to sports. It is scary to me how people take it seriously and I am not all that much different. I scaled it back in recent years and I don’t watch all that often. It is far too scary to be emotionally involved..
Election Returns
My wife and I both have PTSD from watching previous election returns. Last night we sat down reluctantly not exactly knowing what to expect. It was scary for about 10 minutes as all of the drama was gone as we saw states turn blue one after the other. I talked about this previously as I expected this to be a chaotic month in our lives. I still walk around with a small amount of terror of what this evil regime has up at sleep next. But for now there’s a glimmer of Hope sparkling from my eyes.
