What does it mean to be a good person?

We are watching a television show, called The Four Seasons and we really enjoy it.

In The Four Seasons Season 2, Episode 3, Jack (played by Will Forte) finds a new male friend named Mark Brett (played by Steven Pasquale). [1]

  • The Meeting: Mark Brett stumbles upon the group while they are vacationing on the Jersey Shore.

And the implications here are that older males cannot make male friends. Tina Feys character is ecstatic that her husband has found a male friend. Be careful what you asked for and her reaction is hyperbolically annoying . We don’t watch television often and when I pick a TV show, I do so for a reason. I’m also the same way with friends. And that is one of the desirable traits of friends. it is my broad brush stroke approach to “are they a good person. “

Actions Speak Louder Than Words

There’s no one definition. I stayed at a friend’s house two weeks ago and we were running late to go to a celebration of life for another really good person. My friend, even though we were running late., had a person who was down on their luck, suddenly show up in a time of need. My friend took the time to listen., donated a sleeping bag and some cash. It just comes so easy to be a good person.

It is simple action that define what is a good person. You notice I use the word acts of kindness. You can talk a good game, but your actions speak louder than words..

Not The Myopic Center of The Universe

I spent the last weekend with a couple where one of the partners is living with terminal brain cancer. Her husband, uses words like we and us and rarely me. His focus has been to make the last few years of his partners life as comfortable and enjoyable as can be. And another thing that strikes me, is the joy that they project into their friends and the rest of society.

I Feel Your Pain

Being able to feel the pain as well as a joy of others is a trait I consider inherit in good people. I have another friend who just published a book and is always something I wanted to do. The thing is, the natural instinct is to be jealous, but I am so darn happy for him. It makes it a lot easier that he’s a good person.

It’s a book I highly recommend. And what comes out in Sean‘s writing is empathy and simply doing the right thing..

Knock Knock

I believe it was last Tuesday night. I got a knock on the door and we don’t usually get people at our front door. it was a kind gentleman telling me the back garage door was open at our house. There were some valuable things in there and he was kind enough to find our front door and notify me.

What really bugged me I was in a hurry and basically said thank you and I never got his name, but I’ll remember his face. In a sense I was not being a good person as I was trying to get dinner ready and a knock at the front door usually startles me.

It’s a spot of bother that I did not give a proper thank you.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
