What’s a country that’s at the top of your bucket list?

We spent last weekend with an extraordinary guest of honor. A good friend of my wife’s had a celebration of life of sorts. She has a terminal brain cancer, and her time is measured on this planet.. She is good right now and a magnificent person to have a conversation with..

Her husband is also extraordinary. We’ve been friends for the last 15 years and we’ve had our share of shenanigans. One of the things we do together is we go see eclipses wherever they may be.

Becca decided she will be present for the next trip and we will be making this trip with her and for her.

Our plan is to head to Egypt and Northern Africa to see the next eclipse. That was her request to do what she wants and give a subtle middle finger to Cancer.

What a wonderful plan! And what amazing friends!

A few days ago a woman with a strong prescription casually mentioned her stage 4 cancer, and somewhat darkly, that she was trying to decide the budget based on how much use she thought she’d get from her new glasses. She was calm, and sad, and making small jokes, and met my eyes entirely when I expressed how hard it all must have been, acknowledging that together.

Certainly put work politics and my preoccupation with such, down some pegs.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
