Today

Hiking the busy trails

outside of Boulder.

It was an easy

yet rocky hilly trail

The sky beautiful,

The Rockies majestic

I met a woman roaming down

the trail, cane in hand

Wearing sunglasses

Legally blind feeling her way

down the trail.

We talked briefly

She seemed joyous happy

to be out in nature.

I closed my eyes

momentarily the same

Walking down the trail

Eyes closed

trying to experience

her experience feeling

the wind, smelling pine, listening

To the song of a bird

only

To open my eyes and spoil

the illusion.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
