The genie grants you a wish. What is it?

It’s a genie, a figment of my fragmented imagination.,

Yesterday I was warming up something in the microwave. I walked over to the microwave and the clock showed 32 seconds. My stirfry from the previous night would probably take two minutes. We only have so much time and I didn’t want to waste those 32 seconds.. I pressed the start button and I microwaved the dish for 32 seconds and then another two minutes.

I saw those 32 second remained on the microwave.

And then a genie transpired into the room. This microwave was from the previous owners, and I never read the owners manual. I didn’t realize it had this genie feature My dog Luna she went crazy. She does not like mopeds and apparently genies.

She chased that Genie, all the way down to the Riverside tavern down on the main street of Everett. I know it wasn’t even noon, but I went into that pub with a genie and my dog.

We walked into the bar, and sat down at a tiny piano, and I pulled out an alto sax and my dog played piano.

The bartender was amazed and asked quizzically, “Where did you get that genie?”

I replied, There’s a genie outside granting wishes.”

The bartender rushed outside and yells, “I wish for a million bucks!”

Instantly, a million ducks flooded the bar and the street outside. The angry bartender ran back inside and complains, “That genie is terrible! I asked for a million bucks, and he gave me a million ducks!”

She’s not my genie I’m not responsible for her.

But anyways, suddenly, I could play that saxophone and I played a few tunes of John Coltrane celebrating his 100th birthday. My wish had been fulfilled. I also wish somehow there would be no more inane prompts on this app that I tend to write on every morning. But apparently, I only get one wish.

Those ducks come over to my house occasionally listening to me play saxophone on the back porch. luna seems to like the ducks, and so do I.

😂 What a wonderfully chaotic genie story! A microwave with a hidden genie feature, Luna chasing it to a tavern, a saxophone-playing narrator, a piano-playing dog, and a million ducks appearing because someone confused bucks with ducks—this is pure surrealist fun.

And I love the ending. Perhaps the genie actually granted the perfect wish: not an escape from the “inane prompts,” but a strange little world where music, dogs, ducks, and imagination make an ordinary morning memorable.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
