What’s a skill you consider basic, that most people don’t actually know how to do?
I am back in Portland for the Portland Seattle soccer match. In Portland I don’t need GPS to get around.
I taught the kids how to orient themselves. Those are the west hills, the river divides east and west and all the streets run alphabetically. .
Now that I live up north I use GPS far too much. Yes the Puget Sound is west, the cascade mountains east. Still I revert back to GPS for navigation, despite the fact that I have more time to get lost right now.
My wife had an appointment today in Portland at 1100. GPS informed us a wild detour that made no sense to me. Still we blindly followed the routes. We left at 7:05 and made her appointment at 10:59.
Who knows I probably would have been late using pure intuition.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
