I Am Not a Writer

My education was more business and marketing and my profession much the same with a lot of computer programming.

But I do like to tell stories.

 And I generally abhor typing.

Lately I’ve been having a high rate of acceptance by magazines for short stories. There is a story I penned called Hellbent which is a story about a person who gets stolen in jail for a crime he did not commit. He has no memory of that night, which made the trial tricky. It is also a subtle jab at the jail industry in United States. Yes you read that right industry.. That story goes to publication on July 21

Today, I also got notice that a story I wrote, called Ice Crean Sonata Wind hits the presses on November 28th. I haven’t looked in the story for a while and it was fun. Reading this again today.. it’s a really weird story based on very much a true story..

It is story loosely based about when I first moved to Seattle 28 years ago. The windstorms fascinated me. The subplot of the story is about a man who drives an ice cream truck when the power goes out.. I just got done proofing the story and it’s kind of a wild ride in an ice cream truck on a stormy night.

I wrote the story about a year ago, and there’s a part where a large tree comes down in Licton Springs Park. The odd thing about that is a large tree came down last weekend and in same park wiping out power for about 24 hours..

Sometimes my imagination does weird tangents . As Gord Downie would say, my imagination is having puppies..

So I’m not really a great writer I just have an active imagination and occasionally get the word processing part done as well.

It’s been about a month where I haven’t written anything new, but I have some ideas brewing.. it is also an active shout out to the prompts provided on WordPress or Jetpack. They kept me writing

What a wonderful journey from business and programming into storytelling! Your imagination is clearly your greatest strength, and the way you turn real-life experiences into unique, thought-provoking stories is truly impressive. Congratulations on the publication of Hellbent and Ice Cream Sonata Wind — both sound powerful and wonderfully original. Keep nurturing those brewing ideas; the literary world definitely needs voices like yours. ✨📚

I think a great author is meant to be a great storyteller first and foremost. They need to have a passion for stories, and writing is just one of the delivery system 🙂 I think you are a great storyteller, congratulations on getting your stories published

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
