What’s the best advice you’d give to someone younger than you?

I’m not the type of person to give unsolicited advice, but there are generalities worth sharing.

First impressions are wildly overrated. When you first meet someone don’t make judgments. We aim to please and we generally are pleased when we want to be. The second or third time you meet someone that’s a true Test. .

Get Out of Your Comfort Zone

I know it’s uncomfortable, but you’re going to live and grow by it and you’re going to see the world a little differently. Once you get out of your comfort zone, many other things will feel comfortable. Please trust me on this.

I’m sitting here looking out the window watching a three legged dog walk down the street. A dog doesn’t even know it’s different than any other dog and it’s just happy to be out on a walk as autumn descends upon us

Don’t judge yourself by what others have.

Life isn’t really fair and once we learn to accept that we can work towards making it a little more fair. Be like the three legged dog, and by all means scratch the dog between the ears.

Savor The Side Effects

Get out and move, get out and run, get out and bike, get out and climb mountains, as there are many beneficial side effects of endorphins. And if you get to top the mountain and somebody congratulates you for using an Oxford comma, take it with a grain of salt whatever that means.

So in general life is not black-and-white it’s a space that’s in between that matters.

What a wonderfully thoughtful and refreshing piece! I especially loved the way you turned simple observations—a first meeting, stepping outside our comfort zone, a three-legged dog, and the joy of movement—into meaningful lessons about life

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
