What’s the longest trip you’ve ever taken?

I did sail virtually around the world on a few occasions, and I think the longest trip was to the Maldives to visit my daughter. For the most part, it was a wonderful trip and the flights weren’t that bad at all.

Dubai was interesting, however, both places were a little too comfortable because most of the language was English.

Probably the weirdest part of that trip was that when I left the United States it was during a raging snowstorm that seemed to linger for a week.

    That sounds like quite a memorable journey! ✈️🌍 Visiting your daughter in the Maldives must have made the long trip especially worthwhile. I can imagine the contrast between leaving the U.S. in a raging snowstorm and arriving in the warmth of the Maldives and Dubai—what a change of scenery!

    I’m beginning to understand the ritual of getting away during winter, into the bright and out of the cold as if taking a sauna, but this morning I was so happy on my morning walk wearing a jacket and shorts. 😀

    I love the winter, and that was not the intention of my trip. I just happened to be going to the Maldives at that time.

    I love running in the cooler weather and I love that Everett is 10° cooler than Portland. This time of year, I’m always looking for signs of fall, but this year there was no hurry because the summer was more pleasant .

    Have you noticed certain trees are yellow already?

    YES! I was in Snohomish yesterday and signs of Fall were everywhere. There’s a tree (my greeting-the-morning tree) right in front of the apartment that’s gone from darker green to light, and is now golden orange all around the edges. It’s all changing fast!
