What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?
Chicken Truck
Many years ago I was driving behind a chicken truck, as I was driving from southern Virginia to my parents house on the Del Mar Peninsula. Delaware has a lot of chickens. I looked at the chicken truck and the chickens in the crate breathing in the fumes of the truck as they were headed to their ultimate demise.
I decided if I don’t eat meat, the chicken won’t have to ride next to the exhaust. there have been many iterations over the years and I feel good about eating no animal products.

New Years Resolutions
I make public New Year’s resolutions occasionally. What I’m doing is poking fun at the whole New Year’s resolution thing. But now it has become a tradition of sports. Usually my New Year’s resolution states how many spring onions I’m going to eat in a particular year.
This year it was carrots. I made a public goal to eat. 600 carrots this year. I stopped keeping track when we moved when I was at 420. That’s the thing about this resolution, no it’s ever going to call you out on it.

Außerdem
Ich habe mir versprochen, die deutsche Sprache zu lernen und zu sprechen. Dieses Versprechen begleitet mich stets.
I promised myself, I would learn to speak German. And some weird convoluted way me sitting behind a chicken truck it’s loosely connected to me, wanting to learn German. There is a thread to connect the two. If you have seen the movie Project Hail Mary, it does explain the connection. Sort of.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
