To Be Bamboozled

I’m never really quite sure why those who march in red hats still support the narcissist. RA_IST in charge. It baffles me and certainly it pisses me off. Shout out to the Exeter HS class of 78 for mailing it in post graduation.

I’m going to attempt a misplaced analogy here.

You know someone who stays in a relationship that shouldn’t even be in a relationship. Sometimes it’s the conflict thats addictive. You don’t even know it when you’re in the midst of it.

And I’m going to make a broad , brush statement here. I believe. I’m not stating as a fact that is very much like religion. You let someone do the thinking for you.
It’s convenient, it’s comfortable and as part of being in a group with people with the same, I hate to use the word beliefs.

But for now, I will quote my hero Carl Sagan

One of the saddest lessons of history is this: If we’ve been bamboozled long enough, we tend to reject any evidence of the bamboozle. We’re no longer interested in finding out the truth. The bamboozle has captured us. It’s simply too painful to acknowledge, even to ourselves, that we’ve been taken. Once you give a charlatan power over you, you almost never get it back.

A powerful and deeply honest reflection. Your writing captures the emotional frustration, complexity, and psychology behind blind loyalty in a very thought-provoking way. The analogy was compelling, and ending with Carl Sagan’s quote gave the piece even greater impact. Bold, reflective, and truly engaging.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
