One Contact At Time

What do you do to be involved in the community?

Neighbors

The people who bought our house are here to take some measurements. I met them for the first time this morning. I handed them a list of all the neighbors with brief descriptions. We are close with our neighbors and we will becsorry to move away from them. That is where community involvement starts.

I also handed them the Community News letter. I do go to meetings even though I do not enjoy them.

Endorphins

I run everyday and in most cases I run in the neighborhood. Most people recognize me and many know me on a first name basis. Luna certainly knows every house that will give her dog treats. I am a member of Clark County road runners and enjoy their weekly runs.

Government

I have walked with the candidates and shown up at town halls. I have disagreements with our Representatives and have let that be known. I worked political campaigns with candidates and we have won some and lost others.

Facilities

The Library is a great place to start. I go there weekly and attend cultural events. In our previous neighborhood we got to meet Beverly Cleary at the library dedication. There is still a plaque on the wall bearing our names

This is such a wonderful reflection on what true community really means. ✨
From knowing your neighbors and staying active locally to supporting libraries, civic life, and even daily connections through your runs — your life is deeply woven into the fabric of your community.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
