I stood outside Dairy Queen in a B-list town made to have a Dairy Queen.
I am vegan so there is nothing there for me except to watch the people. A girl, in her best favorite dress stands expected, almost ready to pose for this photo. Her date is behind the store sipping from a bottle of Southern Comfort he hid in the glove compartment. Two cars roll down Main Street with more horse power than needed.
The rains came later this year. Everybody needs a blizzard. They stand and read the menu even though they already ordered. They’ll be prepared for next Friday night.
His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.
A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
