Hues and Clues

What are 5 everyday things that bring you happiness?

Everyone deserves moments of happiness in this adventure we call life and I hope that we all can see and experience the beauty in everyday things.

Bird

The singing of birds in the backyard is a reminder of subtle beauty. I hope to be able to pay attention and listen and not take it for granted.

Dog

The way a dog stares you in the eyes is a connection to another world complemented with a pet behind the ears.

Run

Almost every day, I get out and do a run of about three miles. (Occasionally longer) Running is a simple pleasure that seems to paint the rest of the day in a brighter hue.

Music

Music is part of my everyday and what I listen to provides me with pleasure and context. Generally, classical music provides for a peaceful backdrop but then again

Silence

Hello darkness, my old friend
I’ve come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence

This is quietly beautiful—there’s a gentle honesty in the way you’ve captured life’s simplest joys. Nothing feels forced or exaggerated; it’s all very real, very lived-in.

I especially love how each moment stands on its own, almost like small windows into a day well noticed. The birds, the dog, the run—these aren’t grand events, yet you’ve given them the dignity they deserve. That awareness, that willingness to pause and feel, is something many people overlook.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
