Have you ever consulted a psychic?
Watching my father date is an awkward thing as I’m almost as old as he was when I watched him dating. If that made any sense than you know where I’m going.
My dad dated this woman named Rachel. I rather liked her. She was smart and she was dating my dad. Our dad was probably the most undatable guy on the planet as he had a well earned three divorce résumé to support my thinking.
Rachael’s line of work was that of a psychic. She had a business card to prove this. I am completely agnostic, and I have little belief in this type of thing. It is a demon haunted world. I didn’t want to disappoint Carl Sagan.
My brother was living in Delaware at the time. He had a black lab that was sweet and playful. I don’t remember the name of the dog, but I clearly remember that dog. It was playful and sweet with big brown ambitious eyes . One day the dog ran away and went missing for a few weeks.
When a dog is missing for a few weeks you tend to give up hope. My brother did the next logical thing. Rachael was in town visiting my dad. She lived in South Carolina and my dad in Pennsylvania so I don’t know exactly how and why they were in Delaware. My brother asked her if she had any insight into finding his missing dog.
And against the run of play she did. She said your dog is at the end of a long road in a blue house on the right.
So my brother did the next logical thing. He and his wife drove down the road that led away from their house. Let me remind you that all roads are the same in Delaware. It’s all soy bean fields and chicken coops with an occasional road side berry farm.
They took a left at the next road and followed it for about a kilometer and then a quick right and there stood a faded blue house they had never seen before.
And there on the front porch, sat their dog sleeping peacefully.

I stole this prompt from a Gekko. Thank you for the inspiration.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
