Vegan Currywurst

Currywurst is a popular German street food featuring sliced bratwurst (a type of sausage) smothered in a spiced, tomato-based curry ketchup sauce and dusted with extra curry powder.

This food is so simple and I’d rather enjoy it. Actually, I make mine vegan. I made it for a Book Club yesterday. I use vegan bratwurst and made my own out of smoked carrots.

The sauces are rather simple. It has lots of ketchup, apple cider vinegar, vegan Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, paprika, and sprinkled curry.

It is my style not to include everything in a recipe. You may adopt your own preferences and what you have in your cabinet.

Currywurst ist ein beliebtes deutsches Streetfood, bei dem in Scheiben geschnittene Bratwurst mit einer würzigen Curry-Ketchup-Sauce auf Tomatenbasis übergossen und mit zusätzlichem Currypulver bestäubt wird.

Dieses Gericht ist so einfach und ich genieße es sehr gerne. Ich bereite meine Variante übrigens vegan zu. Gestern habe ich sie für einen Buchclub zubereitet. Ich verwende vegane Bratwurst und habe meine eigene aus geräucherten Karotten gemacht.

Die Saucen sind recht einfach. Sie besteht aus viel Ketchup, Apfelessig, veganer Worcestershire-Sauce, braunem Zucker, Paprika und etwas Currypulver.

Es ist mein Stil, nicht alles in einem Rezept anzugeben. Du kannst deine eigenen Vorlieben einbringen und das verwenden, was du gerade im Schrank hast.

Es ist einfach und lecker. Früher habe ich mich über deutsches Essen lustig gemacht, aber die deutsche Küche hat ihre Feinheiten. Es ist der perfekte Genuss für deine stressigen Tage.

Note these are small sketches of Berlin and possibly other places in Germany. The hope is to capture the mood of the evening with an addendum in German. I will master that language one day.
