What Seems Like The Most Ordinary Album

Jack Clement – All I Want To Do In Life

Mark gets religious. This has been one of my most listened to albums in the last two years. I tend to not overplay an album and I I probably listen to it about once every two weeks.

Every time I play it. I’m overwhelmed by how beautiful it is. It seems to get better every time.

How I found this album – We used to go to church? Almost every week. I’m not all that religious, but the church was rather enjoyable, despite its chants, sermons and incantations. But certainly it wasn’t something I looked forward to every week.

We were driving to church and I was listening to a radio show on public radio. They played and commented on his music from this album. I loved what I heard.. it was a little bit Johnny Cash, a little bit Irish Dement. It had verve.

I went looking for it as soon as I came home for church. The music that is.

The minister at the church I consider a friend. We have had deep discussions on religion. He once said to me, Mark have you ever listened to music that led you to tears.

My answer was as expected.

“He said when that happened maybe that is God.”

Which brings me back to Jack Clement..

Whom I learned about while driving to church.

What a beautifully reflective and soulful piece. 🎶
I love how you’ve woven music, memory, and quiet spirituality together so effortlessly. That idea—that a song moving you to tears might be something divine—is truly powerful. Your journey from a simple radio moment to a deeper emotional connection feels honest and deeply human. A touching and resonant reflection. ✨

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
