Art Show

On a cold icy Friday evening, Max and I took the bus and then a train to an art show. We did take one bus the wrong way. It was not only an art show. I had some of my artwork there and so did Max. It was certainly a younger crowd. It was sponsored by the company OBEY. Berlin at night has a certain edginess to it. We found the studio and it certainly was hip.

The company (OBEY) was from France and they provided beers from France. They weren’t my favorite as they were very sweet. I did not sell too much of my stuff that night, but I certainly learned a lot. I learned how to put books together and different ideas for displaying my own work. Many had the skill set of taking the ordinary and making it look extraordinary .The young crowd in Berlin is quite fun. We spoke little German, mostly English with a sprinkling of French.

My favorite part of the evening was the commute home. I love the edginess at night of Berlin. The Canal was still frozen over and there was a certain glitter to the night. The shadows fell perfectly.

Art Show

An einem kalten, eisigen Freitagabend fuhren Max und ich mit dem Bus und dann mit dem Zug zu einer Kunstausstellung. Wir sind allerdings einmal in die falsche Richtung gefahren. Es war nicht nur eine Kunstausstellung. Ich hatte einige meiner Kunstwerke dort ausgestellt, ebenso wie Max. Das Publikum war eher jünger. Die Ausstellung wurde von der Firma OBEY gesponsert. Berlin hat nachts eine gewisse Nervosität. Wir fanden das Studio und es war wirklich hip.

Die Firma (OBEY) stammte aus Frankreich und stellte Bier aus Frankreich zur Verfügung. Das war nicht ganz mein Geschmack, da es sehr süß war. Ich habe an diesem Abend nicht viel verkauft, aber ich habe auf jeden Fall viel gelernt. Ich habe gelernt, wie man Bücher zusammenstellt, und verschiedene Ideen für die Präsentation meiner eigenen Arbeiten bekommen. Viele hatte die Fähigkeit, Gewöhnliches außergewöhnlich erscheinen zu lassen. Das junge Publikum in Berlin ist ziemlich unterhaltsam. Wir sprachen wenig Deutsch, hauptsächlich Englisch mit ein bisschen Französisch.

Am besten hat mir an diesem Abend die Heimfahrt gefallen. Ich liebe die Aufregung in Berlin bei Nacht. Der Kanal war noch zugefroren und die Nacht hatte einen gewissen Glanz … die Schatten fühlten sich perfekt an
