Uncomfortably Numb

How do significant life events or the passage of time influence your perspective on life?

Psychology 201

There are far too many permeations to even ask this questions. What defines a significant life event?

Significant life events, or “life-changing moments,” are key milestones, transitions, or traumas that fundamentally alter a person’s life trajectory, perspective, or daily routine. These often include major shifts in relationships (marriage, divorce), family structure (births, deaths), career (hired, fired, retirement), and residence (moving, buying a home)

We are contemplating moving to Seattle soon. There are so many unknowns that we have very little control of and what we can control is how we react to the change. We are all different people and that’s what makes the world go around.

Sort Of

My wife looks at houses daily, I do not. She visualizes the house she wants to live in. I do not. For me it is an underlying feeling and when it becomes reality, then I move into action. But it does affect me. Then again everything is only temporary.

World Leader Pretend

This is my mistake
Let me make it good
I raised the wall and I will be the one to knock it down

So what we’re seeking is to control the situation. I know for many the current regime in charge of the United States right now are smack dab anti-my philosophy in life. I really don’t care about the government in the United States. I think it is so flawed anyways, But I care about the people and they are affecting people I love and care for. This is a low level effect on our health and psyche every single day. We are all waiting for that ray of sunshine to breakthrough. But we do have each other. That is my mistake to make it. Let me make it well.

NIMBY

This is one of the more unfortunate concepts that I’ve run across. For those unfamiliar it means not in my backyard. Until something affects your day-to-day life. We grow numb to it.. to misquote a famous Pink Floyd. Song.

I have become uncomfortably numb. One must factor into the equation our level of empathy. I feel and hear injustice towards humans as well as animals. I feel it more than most. It’s a bit of a dual edge sword. But it’s my sword and let me swing it well.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
