What books do you want to read?
And there my book sits on a display on the left amongst the Indie writers. When the revolution comes those on the right will try to destroy all books, and my book will be amongst them.
In the Works.
I have slowly been gathering my collection of short stories that I would like to include in my book. So far, I have had eight short stories published, a few poems, and some artwork. I will be ready to assemble the book when I get the 12th story published. I love short stories and I was inspired by Raymond Carver, George Saunders, and Checkov.
The Spark
The spark truly was a Book Club I belong to. Some of the books recommend by other people led me in directions I didn’t know I’d would go. One of our members recommended George Saunders a Swim in The Pond in the Rain and it has been an inspiration for me.
Kindling
To write well one must read. I had a previous essay. I wrote about two or three books that were large influences for me. I read everything from kids books, classical literature, poetry fiction, non-fiction and graphic novels. I get inspiration from nature, music and especially interacting with children.
The Embers
Reading to children is one of my favorite activities. I got so inspired just seeing the light in their eyes. I’d love the craft that goes into children’s book. Here is one of my most recent favorites.

The S’mores
I really want to read a book in a foreign language, I’m just finishing a collection of short stories in German and they’re pretty simple. I’ve taken a break from German, but the reading of this book has come quite easily.
Here are some books that inspire me.
