Dual Edge Sword

How are you creative?

I was a computer programmer by trade. One would surmise how creative is that. I found ways, as problem solving outside the box is an art form. When I retired they said they would meet my status reports.

And when they get home from work.

I walk around and there are stories unfolding around me. There is also art bursting everywhere, music to be heard and a poem written on the wall.

I am that nerd with the notebook in his pocket and a pencil in the other. There is art in the simple. There is art in the symmetry of a baseball box score, a traffic jam or a coyote in a field.

Back to creative writing

I love to tell stories and much like computer programming one must get it out of your head and onto paper (typed). Sometimes I find proofreading banal. Thats how I am wired, to move on to the next endeavor.

Back to the Basics

Our granddaughter produced this but on some days it’s a mere purple marker all over her face.

This is a lovely reflection on creativity in its truest sense. I really admire how you bridge the worlds of logic and imagination—showing that problem-solving, observation, and storytelling all spring from the same creative impulse. Your eye for art in the everyday, from a baseball box score to a coyote in a field, feels both grounded and poetic. And that final image of your granddaughter’s purple-marker masterpiece is perfect: a gentle reminder that creativity begins with play, curiosity, and freedom. A warm, thoughtful piece that quietly celebrates a life lived attentively.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
