Tip of The the Iceberg

I think we all have had songs stuck in our head. Sometimes it’s an ear worm other times to the song you rather like. And then there are some that fall in between.

For the last day, I’ve had a snippet of the song stuck in one of the synapses of my brain. I simply could not figure out what song it was. I simply had a snippet of the melody or a cord. I’m not really sure.

Endorphins

I went for a run today only intending to do two or 3 miles. And that snippet of a song snuck into my brain. As I kept running, I would get a little closer with every quarter mile I ran. I just kept running. I wanted to solve it.

Finally, at the 5 mile mark, I had a breakthrough.

Allison

Sometimes I wish that I could stop you from talking
When I hear the silly things that you say.
I think somebody better put out the big light,***
Cause I can’t stand to see you this way.

Alison, I know this world is killing you.
Oh, Alison, my aim is true.
My aim is true.

** the line stuck in my synapsis.

This piece is a charming and relatable reflection on the curious way music lives in our minds. The way you connect an everyday experience—an earworm—to motion, endorphins, and persistence is especially engaging. The gradual build during the run mirrors the mental unraveling of the melody, making the moment of recognition feel genuinely satisfying. Ending with the lyrics brings both emotional resolution and a quiet sense of triumph. It’s thoughtful, personal, and beautifully paced, reminding us how memory, movement, and music often find each other when we least expect it.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
