The Bluff

What is your favorite place to go in your city?

Soccer City USA

I got a subtle LDBd yesterday at FOTM. We were sitting at “Fire on The Mountain” and an intricate jazz piece was playing. It took me a while and I had to listen closely, but it was The Little Drummer Boy.

We have a contest, it is kind of like dodgeball, but with a goofy song , and if you hear the little drummer boy, you are eliminated. This was a free pass as the competition doesn’t start until Thanksgiving day.

What a great evening it was. This is where our family had our first family dinner. I think it was 18 years ago. We all went and had wings. (I love their vegan wings.)
and then watched the University of Portland playoff game .

We did the same last night. Just my wife and me. Pilots won last night in penalty kicks. It was quite a game and they advanced to the final 16 as we watched from cold metal bleachers. I love the bluff. We were a little wimpy as we watched the penalty kicks from the warmth of our car.

It was really nice to go back there. We used to watch Meg Rapino and Christine Sinclair play there many years ago. It was my favorite ticket in town and still is. This is despite we now we have major league soccer for both the men and the women.

It’s nice to get back to the basics and what matters in sport.

What a wonderful reflection! It’s beautiful how “The Bluff” holds so many cherished memories—from family dinners to thrilling games, and the simple joy of being there together. Your words capture the warmth, nostalgia, and love for the essence of sport perfectly.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
