To Write is to Read

I have always been a big fan of Russian authors. I am currently reading The Karamazov Brothers which is the eighth and final novel by Russian author Fyodor Dostoevsky.

I usually have three books going at the same time and a third book I usually a book I picked up at the neighborhood kiosk.

I picked this book up because I wanted to draw (paint) the cover. It is intense, but I’m enjoying it.

When I’m reading, I read an audiobook and a hardcover book. I like to have a book for when I am running.

To Write is to Read

I get so many ideas while reading that bleed into my writing. I finished two short stories in the last two weeks. I’ve been spending a lot of time rereading these and getting them ready to send off to editors.

The editing process is both reading and listening. I put my stories on the read aloud mode so I can pick up and process differently.

Enjoy your day it is that time of year to sit by the fire and read a good book.

I have not yet read brothers K although I hear amazing things about it. I love crime and punishment, but haven’t read nearly as many Russian authors as I should.

I have a fireplace now, with no idea how to use it. 🙂 I look forward to reading The Brothers Karamazov one day. I don’t think I’ve felt more immersed reading than when I determined that every summer I’d read Russian literature. It lasted two years, with two Tolstoys. :)) But I’ll get back to it sometime.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
