What was your favorite subject in school?
Implied Question
If we are lucky, we are in school for a long time during our lives. It’s not for everybody, but we are lifelong learners. I can’t remember any classes where I just had to rush to because I enjoyed it. However, as an adult, you can look back and say, what class did I get the most out of and what do I perceive as the most enjoyable?.

Literature
I rather liked any class that entailed plenty of reading. We had a reading for appreciation and had to read 10 different types of books. Another class where we read classics and still another where we read tales of mysteries and imagination. here I was introduced to Watership Down, Shakespeare and Dickens.
Art
I was never much into art as a kid. However, there was a girl I went to high school who was one of the cooler artists I ever met. I was intrigued that she could draw anything or paint anything. It took many years to sink in. We were friends during high school and I enjoyed any class that she was in. It’s weird how we put measures on this and it has that it wasn’t always about what was being taught, but who was being taught?
Music
There was a music for appreciation class that I just loved. I seemed to like all music classes. I learned about classical music and jazz, The Beach Boys and other avenues of delight.
To this day, I love music, but because of moving around, I never learned a musical instrument

And we move on
- I remember the first time, mastering calculus, I could conquer the world
- As an undergrad, I really enjoyed psychology classes. Still to this day I love the subject. My daughter is getting her PhD in the same subject combined with..
- Statistics who doesn’t like statistics. I can’t say I liked sitting through the class, however marching it into the real world with it has been quite fun.
- In grad school I loved the hands-on marketing class. I was one of the best in our graduating class. It was a nice mix of the analytical and the creative.
- After grad school, I went to work for a major high-tech company. They had us go to classes every three months. I remember telling my boss one time I don’t care what class I take. I just wanted to be in Seattle.
- That’s how I ended up moving to Seattle.
I honestly could talk about this subject for hours and hours. That stated previously, I didn’t know that I liked these classes. How they stuck with me and into this day intrigue me.
What Goes Around
I did end up teaching classes at a local community college and a major university. I absolutely loved doing this. It was an adrenaline rush for me because I could feel my students learning, and I was rather good at it. Who would think database programming could be exciting. I hope my students got the same out of it as I did as a student. I would get letters from them years later and I think they had the same experience. It took a little while to sink in.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
