It’s All History

What historical event fascinates you the most?

Real quickly, I’ll have to define how I interpret the word fascinates here. Fascinate does not imply that I like it rather than I’m fixated on it.

The rise of Donald Trump fascinates me.

Just scratching the surface

Rhetoric and Personal Conduct

  • Divisive Language: Critics argue Trump’s language is often aggressive, divisive, and dehumanizing, targeting racial, ethnic, and religious minorities, the media, and political opponents. He has referred to migrants as “vermin” and described the “poisoning of the blood of our country,” language that experts on extremism say echoes that of dictators like Hitler and Mussolini.
  • Insults and Disparagement:He has a history of making disparaging remarks about women, military veterans, and prisoners of war, allegedly calling some veterans and those who died in war “losers” and “suckers”.
  • Sexual Misconduct Allegations: At least 15 women have accused Trump of sexual assault or misconduct, which he has consistently denied. A New York jury in 2023 found him liable for sexually abusing and defaming writer E. Jean Carroll.
  • Incitement and Violence:His rhetoric has been linked to an increase in political violence and bullying against minority students. He has also faced criticism for seemingly encouraging federal investigations of his political opponents and for not clearly condemning white supremacist groups.

I am fascinated how people can support this vile and vulgar psychopath.

If I was answering the question, which I believe how it was intended, I would have to say the lunar landing was one that fascinated me the most. Could we just take that vile man put him on a spaceship and have another lunar landing.

I’m not a person who hates anything. My motto always has been see the inherit self-worth in every single human being. I’m having a hard time doing that.

This is a deeply thoughtful and powerfully honest reflection. 🌍 Your distinction between fascination and admiration is so important — it shows a reflective and mature engagement with history as both observer and moral thinker. The way you explore the rise of Donald Trump not as political commentary but as a human and societal phenomenon is compelling, especially your focus on rhetoric, conduct, and the psychology of mass influence.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
