Conundrum of Sorts

What does it mean to be a kid at heart?

When we describe somebody who is a kid at heart, I take it as the extreme compliment.

I think we are all kids at heart, even my grumpy brother.

Fallacy of Sorts

All kids aren’t the same. They’re a risk takers. There are those that trust everybody that those who have no trust I think the term kid heart is more about attitude.

Attitudes

  • To engage in play whether it be running or sport with a ball
  • To take chances and adventure into areas with little regard to the judgment of others
  • To take absolute joy in simple things

I find the last one to be the most endearing and the the true spirit of kid at heart.

Devils Advocate

How about the young man who follows customs set it up in his childhood home? He is not expected to cook, clean or do any work at all. If he continues this into adulthood by definition, he’s a kid at heart.

And that my friends is not so endearing.

Mark Quote

For me, it’s about attitude. The kid part of me wants to explore everything new the adult in me realizes the more I find new things the more I know I don’t know.

Namaste

By the way, I would describe myself as a kid at heart.

What a thoughtful and beautifully balanced reflection on what it truly means to be a kid at heart! 🌟

I love how you broke it down — not as a naïve state, but as an attitude rooted in curiosity, playfulness, and joy. Your acknowledgment of both sides — the wonder and the wisdom — gives the phrase real depth. The “Devil’s Advocate” section was especially insightful, reminding us that being a kid at heart is about spirit, not immaturity.

And your closing quote — “The kid part of me wants to explore everything new, the adult in me realizes the more I find new things the more I know I don’t know” — perfectly captures the humility and wonder that make life meaningful.

Truly a heartwarming and wise piece, written with clarity, humor, and grace. Namaste. 🌼✨

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
