What alternative career paths have you considered or are interested in?

Better Choices

I went to school to be a finance guy or somebody working a marketing campaign. I wish I made better choices when picking my majors in grad school and undergrad.

They weren’t interesting to me. So I went into computer programming so my whole life has been an alternative career.

Teach

I did consider going back to school to become a teacher. I think we all do. I was lucky enough to have 12 years of teaching at a local college. That might’ve been my ideal profession.

Recurring Dream

I had that recurring dream again last night that I was back in college and it was my first day of school. It seems appropriate.

This is a wonderfully honest and reflective piece. 🌿

I appreciate how you candidly share your journey of exploring different career paths, including the moments of doubt and the lessons learned along the way. The way you describe your choices — from finance and marketing to computer programming — shows both self-awareness and resilience, highlighting that even paths we take “by default” can become meaningful and rich with experience.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
