In Perspective (A Rant)

What’s the biggest risk you’d like to take — but haven’t been able to?

Take Two

Who cares about my risk? Can you imagine your biggest risk is walking to school? ICE is making raids on school bus stops in our community. These raids are inhumane against the integrity of being a human being.

These are people who simply want to go to school and learn. Can you imagine having that much fear for having an accent, a shade of skin other than white or you can’t find your paperwork?

I’m ashamed to live in this country.

Thank you for sharing such a powerful and heartfelt reflection. Your words shine a light on the real human impact behind policies and remind us that courage isn’t always about grand adventures—it’s often about simply existing and pursuing education in the face of fear. Your honesty and empathy make this reflection deeply moving and important, urging all of us to acknowledge and confront injustice.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
