What’s a topic or issue about which you’ve changed your mind?

I sat in graduate school listening and believing in capitalism. I believed our free market was the best in the world.

I no longer think that. I do believe the free market system is superior to many other systems but capitalism is not.

Our system in the United States is no longer a free market. Special interest and money rule the United States free market system. as does human nature.

I used to wrestle with the question of whether man is basically good or intrinsically bad. Of course the world is not black and white. I did used to think man was basically good.

I no longer think that way. And that is where the free market system breaks down.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time.
