Yesterday in Berlin, my flight to Iceland and then home was cancelled. I have slept in airports before, but I am too young🙄 for that.

So I grabbed a vegan curry wurst and headed back into the city. Somehow things take care of themselves.

I did have to get up at four this morning however the world keeps spinning around.

I spent a great evening with our son. Met one of his friends and we had a few beers. I was watching people enjoying them selves on a Friday night and thought I could live here.

At one point, I ran the table while playing pool, a game I suck at, and ended up going to bed far too late.

So here I now sit in Frankfurt, tired, satiated, and happy to go home.

What a delightful and relatable reflection 🌟! I love how you capture the spontaneity and small joys that come from travel mishaps—turning a cancelled flight into an evening of good food, laughter, and connection with your son. The way you describe savoring a vegan curry wurst, running the pool table despite not being great at it, and watching people enjoy their Friday night paints such a vivid and warm picture of simple pleasures.

You ran the table?! With your son looking on?! Clearly it was destiny that you should miss that flight.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
