I never had a problem taking the kids to the park. In fact, in Seattle, we try to visit as many playgrounds as possible. The kids seem to enjoy it as well. If you look around there are usually far more mothers at the park than fathers. As grandparent and visitors, we are not always part of the connected circle, but we are ok with that.
Der Spielplatz
Yesterday I took our granddaughter to the playground in Mainz. There was not a single father at the park and I was not attuned to the rules of etiquette. On top of that I tried to keep it all in German. That was a challenge, but I kept it simple and for the most part I held my own. Yafa did the sliding board often and liked playing on the trails that surrounded the park. She also enjoyed turning on the sprinkler.
Gehen wir zur Schule
This morning we took her to school. It was an interesting setup with certain rules that were so German and in retrospect well intended. There were little garages for her buggy, a key for the garages. We had to be there between eight and eight thirty. She seemed happy to be there.
Das was unser Abenteuer.
- I have been mispronouncing Abenteuer. (A Bend Toy Ya)
- I have a non-working letter S on my keyboard.
- My watch just said. LOS. So I need to run.

I would love to hear you opinion as well
