How do you celebrate holidays?

Unfortunately, the true definition of holiday is that when you’re not working. I put on an inner office memo that I’m on holiday for the next two weeks. It took some explaining in the good old United States of America.

And I digress. Holidays come in all shapes, forms and variations.

September 29

I’ll take this day for example. That was the day my daughter and her husband went to a baseball game. They still have a ticket stub on the refrigerator. It is also our grandson‘s birthday. At one point in time it was my wedding anniversary. I hit the big undo key on that one.

1111

My wife and I celebrate November 11 for various reasons. The number 1111 has meaning for us which is mostly happenstance. Many of my friends celebrate that day. We just made our own holiday.

Silvester

In Germany, that term refers to New Year’s Eve. My wife and I also celebrate that day.

A few years back, we watched the fireworks in Berlin on New Year’s Eve. We celebrated for other reasons, but I’m not going into the details here.

It’s all about the fireworks, and these are the good types of fireworks.

Pajamas

For Christmas we walk around in our pajamas as they are a gift from our Seattle family.

And currently our granddaughter is walking around singing

Happy birthday you you Bubba

As it is her dads birthday this week

Celebrate today. Make your own holiday

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
