Describe one habit that brings you joy.

Habit implies a regular tendency or repeated behavior that you more than likely wont give up.

I used to be in an elite runner, but I am no longer. I am slower and don’t run as long yet, it is something I’m not likely to give up.

The actual act of running gives me great joy. It gives me joy to watch the world around me and the after effects of endorphins in the brain can’t be beat.

My neighbors have a simple tree that turns brilliant colors in the fall. I love watching that tree when I get to the end of a run. Two nights ago my wife and I played pickle ball. Our backdrop was a three-quarter moon heading outside and experiencing the world with what it’s all about.

I remember a man sitting on his porch when I lived in Pennsylvania. Every morning, when I saw him, he would say to me, it’s too hot to run. It’s too cold to run too rainy to run. I asked him what would be a perfect day to run. He didn’t have an answer.

And still, I would see him every day and I loved our banter

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
