There was an odd-looking man running through the streets of Vancouver this morning. What was odd about him was that he was running and wearing a bike helmet.

That person was me. I get a call from the bike shop that my bike was fixed. Somehow I remembered I needed a bike helmet to ride home.

The Fraternity of the Pants

Myself and a few others, were given a special pair of shorts and with those pants came a special duty. It was our Monday night Running/Beer Drinking Group. We refer to these pants as Hot Bun pants. With these pants comes a certain sense of duty. And I neglected that duty.

I gained weight and could no longer fit in the pants.

My sense of duty called and guess what, I now fit in those pants. I have never been on a diet in my life except for making weight on the wrestling team. I believe this to be sustainable.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
