Was today typical?

It is seven o’clock in the morning and what could make today any different than any other,

My wife is in Yakima so today is unique by definition. So there is a certain emptiness to the day. I didn’t make a pot of coffee and I only made one side of the bed.

I did plan on splurging and sleeping until 730 but that didn’t happen, so here I sit in the beauty of the early morning doing a little German and writing this little essay.

Non Retirement Pro

Since I retired a little over three weeks ago, I haven’t had a day without an appointment or something to do. Today I have nothing on the agenda, which makes the day more unique .

Seize the day with gentleness and gratitude.

The birds seem a little quieter than normal and a gentle breeze meanders through the birch tree.

Shouldn’t every day be unique.I think it should. Yesterday there was a sliver of the moon and today there will be even a bigger sliver. The sun will rise a few degrees different than yesterday and set a minute or two later it’s all unique.

Sun comes up, it’s tuesday morning
Hits me straight in the eye
Guess you forgot to close the blind last night
Oh, that’s right, I forgot, it was me

That’s from The Cowboy Junkies brillant follow-up album to The Trinity Sessions.

    Gentleness and gratitude, nice. 🙂

My morning wasn’t so gentle, awoken at 5am by what after an hour’s research I learned must have been the very loud call of a spotted owl, plus other ruckus. So, startling gratitude for me!

I would love to hear you opinion as well

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
