Regina Spector

Regina Spektor’s song “Après Moi” features lyrics in three languages: English, Russian, and French. Those who master other languages are amazing.

Language

I am usually talkative when it comes to taxi rides. Last night I left before the encores of the Regina Spektor show I was attending to beat the Taxi crush. My cab arrived right on time and I tried to engage with the driver. I understood him clearly but he could not understand me well. Or maybe it was by design.

The Correction

We traveled in silence, which was not my style but it worked for me. That is until he tried getting off on the wrong exit. I said 39th street please.

He politely thanked me. I guess they were the only words needed.

I love Taxi rides. If nothing unusual happens what stories are there to tell. It seems the unusual was that nothing unusual happened.

Ah, love her! I did look up tickets for this at some point, but in the end settled on practicality of “Maybe next time.” 😀 I’m sure it was a wonderful show.

Spector is one of my favorite singer/songwriters. She’s so unique and quirky.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
