These days it is rather difficult to get off the grid. But we did it throwing caution to the wind with an underlying confidence that we know what we are doing. We took our four and two year old grandkids camping.

We have not camped in a few years

Somehow, we got it all together and our camping gear was good to go. Our campsite was very remote on the north side of Mount Saint Helens. Who knows how the kids were going to take this. If anything went wrong, we weren’t anywhere near civilization.

I may write more about it tomorrow or possibly leave it alone. It will be something I always remember even though I can barely remember how to put a tent together.

The Port-a Potty

Four-year-old kids are afraid of out door stinky bathrooms. So there are some nights you have to hold your grandson over the porta potty, in semi darkness, while he struggles to go to the bathroom and there is a a spider crawling up the back your leg and the porta potty door doesn’t even close.

And somehow, you achieve it

Wir sind mit unseren Enkelkindern campen gegangen

Der Campingplatz lag sehr abgelegen.

Im Sommer ist es hier sehr trocken

Wir konnten kein Feuer machen

Unsere Mahlzeiten waren einfach

Die Kinder spielten im Fluss

Das Wasser kam aus den Bergen und war ziemlich kalt.

Das Wetter war schön und die Nächte waren kalt.

Die Kinder haben sich gut geschlagen.

Sie waren glückliche Camper.

I would love to hear you opinion as well

I’m Mark

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
