Last week while on vacation, I turned off the alarms on my watch. I never turned them back on. It may have been a harbinger of things to come.

Who knows how that works as today is my last day of being gainfully employed. We did some things right and I am afforded the opportunity to not go to work tomorrow.

Or the day after, as I am retiring tomorrow.

It is a little scary. Believe me I will not be one of those people who miss the routine. I have plenty of interests and things I want to do.

It has been my lifelong ambition to clean the garage.

The odds of that happening previously were about 18 percent. That number rises to about 83 percent right now.

I imagine I will be spending more time in Germany. In previous trips I was just starting to get my footing and using the language correctly. And then it was time to go home. I can stay as long as I want right now.

I may write another book.

If this this seems vague that is because it is vague. Sometimes the best laid plans are not planned at all.

Life happens.

His friends observe Mark seems wired a little differently. Perhaps it’s more likely that noticing little things often missed by others is a relic of a quieter, simpler time. He has a way with words, which he refuses to let be hindered by sub-par typing skills. People have great stories to tell if you sit and listen.

A belief dear to Mark is that there is certain beauty in the world. You simply have to look for it.
